GA EPD - Water Management Plan

EPG was part of the consultant team selected by the Georgia EPD to assist with development of Technical Guidance documents to support implementation of the Comprehensive State wide Water Management Plan (State Water Plan). The Georgia General Assembly adopted the State Water Plan in January 2008.

The purpose of the State Water Plan is to guide Georgia in managing water resources (stormwater, water supply, and wastewater) in a comprehensive and sustainable manner to support the state's economy, to protect public health and natural systems, and to enhance the quality of life for all citizens. The State Water Plan divides the state into 11 different regional water planning councils who will develop their own Water Development and Conservation Plans.  The guidance developed by the consultant team was utilized by the regional water planning councils to create the Regional Water Plans.

The technical guidance documents were intended to provide state-wide consistency, where applicable, and ensure the regional plans met the requirements outlined in the State Water Plan.
